Architecture acted for the client in a project management role within the construction stage, managing the project team and any project risks. The project consisted of the construction of a double garage extension to an existing chalet bungalow.

The proposal consisted of a double garage pitched roof extension with associated storage at the rear.

The scheme provides vehicular access for two cars, as well as sufficient internal height for a vehicular lift to provide additional parking underneath and access to the underbody of the car.

Following the recent planning refusal of a similar scheme, Arcline Architecture was appointed to obtain planning consent on the contentious site.

Working closely with the client, Arcline Architecture proposed a scheme which followed the outline of the plot to maximise the internal area of the garage. The garage was also set forward of the property to provide greater depth to the garage while local neighbours were consulted prior to submission of the scheme to reduce the risk of a refusal.

To improve the aesthetics of the proposed garage, Arcline Architecture proposed a green roof to the design consisting of wildflowers to introduce colour to the roof as well as a habitat for local wildlife.

Arcline Architecture was appointed from the initial design and planning stage right through to the construction completion stage and the closing of the project.
